The two-day period between the recent Dallas, Texas, Ebola patient’s first visit and isolation is the key to potential legal issues for the hospital, according to Barker and Geraci.

The Ebola patient arrived from Liberia to Dallas and sought medical care at Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital after becoming ill. The patient was released after a communication error prevented all relevant staff from receiving information about the patient’s travel. The patient was admitted two days later.
